Standardized Tests

Only TOEFL or IELTS is a requirement. Some schools may require SAT, GMAT, GRE etc.

For the past several years, a UN survey has found Canada to be the best place in the world to live. Canada earned high marks for its access to education, high life expectancy; and low crime and violence rates.

Applications

There is no common application and students have to fill in the individual forms for the universities and colleges. In some instances, for eg: Ontario Universities’ Application Center has a centralized application processing system for some courses of various universities.

Financial Aid

Students can avail of scholarships and financial aid. It differs from school to school and the student’s qualifications also play a role.

Academic Qualifications Required

For seeking admission to an undergraduate course, a minimum of 12 years of education is the required qualification. For any postgraduate program, you need to have completed 16 years of education i.e.: 10+2+4. This means that you cannot pursue a Master’s course in Canada if you have completed a three-year degree course in India. You therefore need to pursue a one-year postgraduate diploma or a two-year postgraduate degree to fulfill the requirements.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are in demand in various provinces of Canada. Many American companies recruit students directly from Canadian universities on campus.

Visa

There are different classes of visas available. Student visas can be obtained by showing intent to study and by also showing how the education will be financed.

Possibility to work in Canada after graduation

International students who have graduated from a Canadian university or college have the opportunity to work in Canada for up to one year or more after they receive their degree or diploma. International students can work on / Off campus without a work permit. However, there are a host of other Student Employment opportunities available for both students who are studying and who have graduated from their studies.
